Note:  Unless otherwise specified, ALL events below are intended for registered members of SU72 (Hillsborough) ONLY.

SERVICE Reminders:  Adult volunteers may be required to chaperone service activities.  Girl Scouts should be wearing vest/sash/smock when volunteering in public.

SPECIAL EVENT: ‘Boro Girl Scouts take Savannah! - Summer 2026

SU72 is going to try a 5 day/4 night trip to the Birthplace of Girl Scouts, Savannah, Georgia June 27, 2026 to July 1, 2026 (5 days/4 nights).  Trip includes airfare, hotel, JGL Birthplace event, day at Tybee Island, Trolley/Riverboat tour and an optional ghost tour.  Details are in the flyer and questions can be sent to savannah@borogirlscouts.org

• TROOP PROJECT Light to Delight Diwali Food Drive - Through Dec 5th, Sanjana from Troop 60207 will be collecting donations for the Chinmaya Ramdoot Light to Delight Diwali Food Drive. See flyer for details. This activity counts towards Hearts of Service.

• SERVICE Tree Lighting Volunteers - C/S/A - Fri Dec 5th 5:30pm-8pm - Girls will help distribute cookies/hot cocoa, and help at the train line

• Cookies & Cocoa Pajama Movie Night - Saturday, December 6th 3-5pm at the Municipal Building - TROOP/IRG REGISTRATION ONLY. Looking for C/S/A Volunteers. Sign up here.

• Troop Cookie Manager Training: Tues Dec 9th 7 PM - VIRTUAL TRAINING

• SERVICE Holiday Caroling - All levels (Various dates in December) Spread holiday cheer at the assisted living facilities in town! 

• SERVICE Operation Shoebox - All levels (TBD) Girls will help pack snacks and toiletries to send to troops overseas

• SERVICE Letters to Santa - C/S/A (Wed Dec 10th - 17th) Older girls will help with letters - Signup Genius will be updated once details are available.

• SERVICE Wreaths Across America - All levels (Sat Dec 13th) Troops may register to lay wreaths at veteran graves in town - HEARTS OF SERVICE ONLY!

• SERVICE Holiday Food and Gift Program - All levels (through Mon Dec 15th) Troops can adopt a family through the Social Services department. 

January 2026

• SAVE THE DATE Rutgers Women’s Basketball Scout Day - January 1st, 2026. NOTE: This is not hosted by SU72. More information to come soon on how to buy tickets.

• Digital Cookie OPENS for the 2026 Cookie Sale around January 2nd!

• Winter Outdoor Challenge - (formerly an event)  Complete fun winter outdoor activities and earn points toward the Winter Challenge Patch.   The first 50 girls who submit 5 photos of themselves doing challenge activities will get the patch for free!  The list of challenges will be available around Nov. 30 - Leaders: Watch Facebook and email for the list and get outdoors!  (PS - Snowtubing counts!)

• Brownie Fair Play Swimming Event - Saturday, January 17, 2026 2-3:30pm at Pinnacle Health & Fitness. Brownie Girl Scouts can earn their Fair Play badge and enjoy some free swim time. February 2026

• SU72 World Thinking Day - Come join SU72 as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of World Thinking Day on Sunday, February 22, 2026 as we travel the world at Auten Road Intermediate School.  Registration closes on Sunday, January 25.

• SAVE THE DATE Family Snow Tubing - Sat Feb 28th at Blue Mountain in the Poconos - great snow tubing facility, firepits, a cafe and more - 11am - $36.50pp includes ticket/fees & fun patch for girls.  Registration will open in early January.

March 2026

• SAVE THE DATE Girl Scout Birthday - Saturday, March 21, 2026 3-4:30pm at the Hillsborough Municipal Building.

May 2026

• SAVE THE DATE Camporee - Fri May 1st - Sun May 3rd at Camp Canadensis - Details to follow

• SAVE THE DATE Court of Awards - Fri May 29th 7 PM - Auten Rd Intermediate School Cafeteria - Details to follow

National/Council Activities:  

• GSHNJ Calendar of Events including hikes, and other fun events

• GSHNJ Clubs/Teams:  Learn more about Council-run special interest groups/teams for Girl Scouts including Family Ramblers (for girls & their families), SheStormz Robotics Team, Astronomy Club, Media Girls, and the HNJGIRL Advisory Board.  These clubs/teams are independent of individual troop activities.
