As announced at our Court of Awards this past Friday, The Tara O’Brien Leadership & Service Award has been established to recognize and celebrate a Girl Scout who embodies exceptional leadership, service, and dedication to the Girl Scout mission. This award honors the spirit and legacy of Juliette Gordon Low, whose vision created a movement grounded in courage, confidence, and character. It also honors Tara O’Brien, a devoted adult Girl Scout whose years of selfless service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to developing girls—particularly through mentorship and support of Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award candidates—have left a lasting impact on our service unit. Registered Girl Scouts who have earned their Bronze and Silver awards, currently in grades 9-12, can apply here.
