Note: Unless otherwise specified, ALL events below are intended for registered members of SU72 (Hillsborough) ONLY.
If you have not yet re-registered for the 2025-26 membership year, please do this quickly. Registration is completed via the myGS system.
Recruitment Event - Friday, September 19th, 6 pm, at Hillsborough Middle School cafeteria. Please see the flyer here. Please spread the word with any Hillsborough friends interested in joining Girl Scouts. We are especially looking for adults to co-lead new troops. If unable to attend the meeting, please fill out THIS INTEREST FORM so we can contact them.
SERVICE April - Oct: Pollinator Garden: SU72 Community Service Award eligible - Volunteers commit to tend to the Pollinator Garden at the Municipal Complex *weekly* for the entire month. See flyer for details.
SERVICE Bingo nights at Avalon (May through August; incoming J/C/S/A): Avalon is looking for a few girls to help with their Bingo nights several times a month.
SERVICE Red Ribbon - Older girls will prepare the materials to be distributed to the younger girls. Rising Daisies can pick up pencils to bundle pencils and Rising Brownies/Juniors can add safety pins to ribbons. Everything needs to be returned to Service by Monday, September 8th. **PLEASE NOTE: First year Brownies ONLY may split one bag of ribbons. Parents/leaders are responsible for dividing the ribbons/pins between the girls and for writing each girl's name on the return bag. SERVICE Fall Cleanup - Rising Brownies and older may participate in our fall cleanup. Troops may sign up for up to 30 girls in one slot. Please indicate your troop level (noting the youngest level if you are multi-level). This year, we are hoping to allow older girls to clean up the sides of some roads, which would require support and protection from DPW. IF NO SPOTS ARE LEFT, PLEASE EMAIL SERVICE@BOROGIRLSCOUTS.ORG AND WE WILL HELP YOU FIND A DATE. Regardless of level, PLEASE COPY AND SUBMIT YOUR ROSTER WITH ALL GIRLS IN YOUR TROOP BY AUGUST 7th!!! SERVICE Bingo/Crocheting at Brookdale - Brookdale is looking for a few Girl Scouts (Juniors and older) to run their Bingo/trivia night on August 7th (call out Bingo numbers, help check cards, and sit with residents) and then to crochet alongside residents on August 28th. SERVICE Welcome Back/Give Back - Join us at our 5th annual Welcome Back/Give back event - September 14th 4p-5p at ARIS Pavilion. Bring toiletry items for the Hillsborough Community Action Network (aka Food Pantry) and SU72 gives your Girl Scout a Kona Ice! Kona Ice included for 2025-26 registered members. FALL PRODUCT: Nuts/Magazines sales will start on 9/17 and end on 10/26. Additional information will be coming over the next few weeks directly from our Fall Product team (nuts@borogirlscouts.org.) Please make sure you have re-registered as the system will be loaded on 9/3. It will be much easier for your Troop Leader/Nut Manager if you are registered/re-registered no later than Sept 2.
SEPT LEADER/PARENT MEETING: Please join us to kick off this year at our Leader/Parent meeting on Tuesday, September 16th at 7 PM. Location is in the process of being confirmed.
Fall Camping! - This event has been an annual tradition for many years and the team is bringing it back!
All for Fall - Sunday, October 26th 2-530 pm - Our annual Founders Day Celebration and Community Investiture/Rededication/Bridging event will take place on 10/26 at 2pm. Girls will do a craft to provide the Township with Thank You cards for Hillsborough Veterans, and we will celebrate our brand new Girl Scouts, re-dedicate our returning Girl and Adult Leaders, and bridge girls to their next level with a special ceremony. Open to Girl Scouts and Families. Sign up details coming soon!
National/Council Activities:
GSHNJ Calendar of Events including hikes, and other fun events
GSHNJ Clubs/Teams: Learn more about Council-run special interest groups/teams for Girl Scouts including Family Ramblers (for girls & their families), SheStormz Robotics Team, Astronomy Club, Media Girls, and the HNJGIRL Advisory Board. These clubs/teams are independent of individual troop activities.
